Do you have any advice on how to keep details like facial features from disappearing on dark skinned characters? I’ve been trying to draw more poc characters but admittedly I’m not very good and need some pointers

Depending on how you stylize you might want to look into these two posts. 

If you lean on a painter-esque style, Mod Future made a very useful post about colouring dark skinned characters by using planes.
